Answergen is…
..a flexible, SaaS or on-premises based solution that allows end users to view and manipulate data in a way that is meaningful to them. There is no need to develop queries to pull the data out of a data warehouse. Answergen is a cost effective tool that allows an end user to identify relevant Key Business Indicators (KBIs) and measures, create their own views, reports, and dashboards without the need to do coding or lengthy data analysis via Excel. Answergen can be operational in days vs. weeks or months with typical BI solutions.
How is Answergen different from other analytic tools?
Sengen, the developer of Answergen, has been in business for 19 years. In that time, we performed work for Fortune 500 and much smaller organizations. Much of our effort over our history was spent addressing Decision Support or BI initiatives with competitive business analytic solutions. Many times we heard from our clients that they wanted an EASY TO USE, LOW COST and INTUITIVE analytic solution that did not require IT involvement or significant analytics background or training. With that in mind, we developed Answergen; designed to serve 80% of the market that doesn’t have access to business analytics tools and wants business users to be able to do their own analysis and reporting. Answergen has a small learning curve and can functional in a matter of days.
Potential Uses
In addition to addressing internal requirements Answergen can be deployed externally to address client or customer needs. It can even be embedded in an existing solution, OEM fashion, to add value to existing products or services by filling a reporting or analytic gap. In this capacity, Answergen may be offered as a module and could serve as an additional source of revenue generation for your organization.
The User Interface
The User Interface is “Windows like” and can present data as a View that can be configured by end users, executives, clients, customers, and even website visitors, so they can quickly access information and produce reports meaningful to them. Views are based on the concept of Dimensions, or Key Business Indicators. These KBIs may vary by user choice and typically include key criteria to be measured; Division, Product, Line of Business; whatever matters to those accessing the data. Information can be presented in multiple formats including Graphical / Dashboard based, Table / Grid based, or both. In the both the Table and Graphical views users can drill down through the information to get a more granular view of information. If permitted by security, data can be exported to Excel or Word for further analysis or distribution.
In the Table / Grid based view, the Graphical view changes as the data in the Table changes – in real time. There are multiple, user selected graph options including pie charts, bar graphs, stacked bar graphs, bubble charts, and others. Pivoting and Cubing capabilities are also available for power users or administrators.
Answergen is built on MS ASP.net framework. There is no query language to be learned or coding required. All the underlying data appears in plain English - or other languages if desired.
Data Integration
The Data Mart consists of all the data to be analyzed and can consolidate data from any number and type of sources including Excel, QuickBooks, ERP applications, homegrown solutions, or relational databases (like MS SQL Server), or even a single source of data. Once the Data Mart is in place it can be updated on a user-defined frequency; weekly, daily, hourly, or even more frequently if desired.
Security
The built in security module allows administrators to assign access to information based on a person’s User Name, Group or Role. Access can be further controlled by assigning permissions at the row and column level.
Deployment
Answergen has a low monthly subscription fee and does not require a large up-front purchase to begin realizing the benefits of the solution. Answergen can be hosted by Sengen or run on-Premises on customer hardware. Initial setup is so easy that there is typically no implementation cost and training is provided at no charge.
